Translating policy into practice: Improving links between training and policy to improve firefighter safety

Venue: Shrigley Hall
Time: 3rd and 4th December 2019

The NFCC Central Programme Office (CPO) are pleased to invite training managers and policy writers for two days of workshops and talks. The aim is to identify ways of improving relationships between services and departments to ensure policy and practice align.

This will be an opportunity for the CPO to share good practice, communicate the work being done by the NFCC and hold surgeries to assist services with implementing National Operational Guidance (NOG) and training solutions. We hope to help strengthen the golden thread between, policy, training, learning and operational activity.

A full agenda will be released soon but the two days will be made up of a variety of interactive plenary sessions and workshops. Over the duration of the two days we will:

  • Communicate guidance on new learning and training platforms
  • Work with attendees during ‘doctors surgeries’ on identifying implementation issues and provide solutions
  • Discuss future NOG developments
  • Discuss how National Operational Learning affects training and guidance
  • Discuss the revised Incident command guidance
  • Present plans for the new Fire Standards processes and products
  • Deliver sessions on how we can assist the sector in moving forward the areas identified by HMICFRS for improvement

This event is funded by the NFCC Central Programme Office and therefore places are limited to two places per fire and rescue service. If we have available places nearer the time, these will be offered on a ‘first come first served’ basis. As an attendee you will need to commit to attend both days to ensure you fully benefit from the event and can take back the learning to your service.

Book your place now on the booking tab. Please note this event if for FRS staff only.
