The UK Fire and Rescue Landscape 2019

Venue: The Mercure Daventry Court Hotel, Northamptonshire
Time: 5-6 February 2019

Did you know we are not all about strategic managers here at the NFCC?  All UK fire and rescue services are professional partners of the NFCC and so we want to ensure we are engaging with all levels across the sector and that information about the key areas facing us are filtered right through fire services to fully equip you to carry out your role. With that in mind we are delighted to announce that on 5-6 February we will be holding a conference designed to raise awareness across the whole sector covering the key issues facing the UK Fire and Rescue Service.

The event will begin at 2pm on 5th February with an afternoon of networking with suppliers.  This is your chance to engage with companies that supply products to the sector. Working collaboratively with the product manufacturers is vitally important to ensure the products they provide are fit for purpose in our ever-changing sector.  There will be an exhibition area where you can visit suppliers’ stands and some suppliers will also be holding interactive workshops, showcasing their latest innovative products to the sector.  Lunch and refreshments will be provided throughout the afternoon.

On the evening of 5th we will have an informal dinner for some further networking and accommodation will be provided in the hotel.

6th February will see the conference element of the event with a day of informative and interactive sessions on the following subjects:

HMICFRS – Laura Gibb, Portfolio Director, Fire and Rescue Service Inspections will give delegates an insight into their findings and experiences of inspections so far, on overview of the National Report from Tranche One and future plans.

Professional Standards for Fire: The Professional Standards Board has now been established and we will be joined by Joy Flanagan who will talk us through the next stages of creating and adopting Professional Standards.  This is a hugely important topic as Professional Standards will form part of the Inspection process going forward.

Trading Arm Guidance – Grant Thornton will present following their recent FRS Trading Arm review on how to create and operate a successful fire trading company.

NFCC Chair’s Update – We are delighted to be joined by our Chair Roy Wilsher who will give a comprehensive update on the creation of the NFCC, where we are now, the current workstreams and projects and future plans for the NFCC.

Grenfell – This session will provide you with a full overview on Grenfell to date including future impacts on fire and the important work the NFCC will be involved in going forward.

NFCC Communication Forums explained - NFCC Workplace and communication channels – What is Workplace? Why can’t I access CFOA communities? How can you now engage on a better level with your peers across your areas of interest?

This event will be chaired by Paul Fuller, Chief Fire Officer, Bedfordshire FRS
