The role of a company director is an important one and it carries many duties and responsibilities that are imposed by corporate governance rules and legislation. Keeping up to date with all of these requirements while still trying to carry out your day-to-day work can be a considerable challenge.  

This practical and comprehensive course will help you understand everything you need to know about your role and the risks associated with it. 

You will gain an understanding of the roleduties and legal responsibilities of a company director as well as the other critical board roles, activities and duties associated with leading a business. Attending this course will help to equip you with the knowledge and skills required to be able to cope with the role, identify and cope with risks and opportunities effectively and avoid personal penalties.

  • - Your personal liabilities as a director, The Bribery Act, GDPR, Anti-money laundering laws, Corporate manslaughter

  • - Being part of a high performing board, Dealing with board dilemmas, Understanding the board dynamics, Being a team player on the board, The board of director role in crisis management
  • - Dealing with virtual board meetings and how technology may help

Course Presenter

 

The course will be delivered by David Joel. David is a Chartered Director and has been facilitating, delivering and mentoring at senior management and director level for the last ten years in both the public and private sectors. He has also provided training and consultancy services to the Institute of Directors for 11 years and has broad practical experience of business change management and in mergers and acquisition.
